As a little girl, I remember sitting next to my mother in the church pew of our southern baptist church. Every now and then the choir director would have us turn to the familiar hymn, MAJESTY, to offer a song of praise.
I can’t help but recall this memory as I ponder the next word of our Psalm…. GATE.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. Psalm 100:4
As we take this Psalm, word by word, we know we have an invitation to enter and abide with the Father. Let’s look a step further where exactly we are entering.
We are stepping first through a gate.
I love closing my eyes and envisioning the entryway of this invitation. A gate. But not just ANY gate…. Look at this definition.
gate (šaʿar): of a palace, royal castle, temple, court of tabernacle; heaven

Friends. Read this again.
Every single morning. Any moment throughout the day. We have the invitation to enter through the gate of royalty. A King awaits you. A taste of heaven on earth.
Literally.
HEAVEN ON EARTH.
I think it is so important to recognize WHERE we are going on our gratitude journey this month…. when we offer thanksgiving and praise let us not neglect to realize the MAJESTY of our KING. Praise will come sooooo naturally when we understand we are entering into the palace gates of a RISEN and ROYAL KING.
A. King.
While it is true that Jesus is our brother and friend, let us not make the mistake of making Him COMMON. He is not.
In closing, sing along if you know it…. And let the TRUTH of this hymn fall fresh today as you “enter His gates…” with me. The ROYAL GATE of our MAJESTY.
Majesty, worship His Majesty.
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor and praise
Majesty, Kingdom Authority
Flow from His throne, unto His own
His anthem raise
So exalt, lift up on high the Name of Jesus!
Magnify, come glorify, Christ Jesus the King.
Majesty, worship His Majesty;
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings
You know I love this! Gate was my word for 2021. So many people view a gate as a closed gate. But, it can be viewed as the opposite! New beginnings! A fresh start! Love you, Becky!
