Tilting Your Head At A Holy God?

Thank you that you have me in the place You want me just now…that even if I got here through wrong choices or indifference or even rebellion, yet You knew my mistakes and sins before I ever existed and You worked them in to Your plan to draw me to Yourself, to mold and bless me, and to bless others through me.  Thank You that even if I’m here through the ill will or poor judgement of other people, all is well for in Your sovereign wisdom You are at work to bring about good results from all those past decisions those past events beyond my control – good results both for me and for others.  Thank You again that You meant for good the terrible things that happened to Joseph who was sold into slavery, exiled to a distant country and later sent to prison on false accusations…and that through all this You had him in the right place at the right time for highly important reasons.  I’m glad that You are the same today – well able to work things out for us, to turn evil into good.  I stand amazed at the complexity and mystery of Your wisdom.

– Ruth Myers, 31 Days of Praise

Are you in a “Why am I here, Lord!?” place today?

Are you tilting your head at a Holy God thinking that this may be His first mistake?  Or maybe you feel forgotten by Him.  Overlooked on His vast list of “things to do” and “people to see.”

Maybe you have been to this same place of hardship, over and over again.  Are you are beginning to think that victory is for most everyone…just not for you?

Is your joy missing in action?  You just had it and now it has gotten lost under the shuffle of life’s heartache and harsh realities?

My friend, you are not alone.

But be of good courage…no hardship is happenstance.  Nor will it go unused.  Your tears and pain are not in vain.

Sweet Joseph.  He must have felt completely abandoned by the God whom he loved so much.  Still he faced family betrayal and years of abandonment both physically and emotionally.

But we all know how that story ends – Read Genesis 45.

Joseph was not the exception.  Neither are you.

If you are in the blazing fire of trial today or in the sadness of loss or in the pit of despair, throw yourself at the feet of an Omniscient God.  The Holy One who keeps count of your tossings and puts your tears in a bottle.  (Psalm 56:8)

Run into safe shelter this morning.  Find His shadow and curl up in its safety.  You are not forgotten.  You are not alone.

I am betting you may see familiar faces in His shade.

You are chosen, Beloved.  The King of Kings delights in you.  He is inviting you into His Presence right now.

Run do not walk to the God who works all things together for the good of those who love Him.

  1. Amen. Oh, how I need His shelter. I am praying for you my friend. Making an effort to pray daily for you, your ministry and calling. You are under the shadow of His wings.

  2. I want to thank you for allowing me to see this site. As I have been struggling in so many aspects of His gracious love for me. Tears of joy fill my heart knowing He died for me. “What a wonderful God we serve!”

I means so much to hear from you!
