{March} 31 Days Of Seeking Wisdom

Years ago, I was introduced to a new way of reading through the Psalms.

A dear friend was at a crossroad in her life and desperately wanted to entreat God’s Word for wisdom, but honestly didn’t know WHERE TO GO in the Bible. Her problem seemed to get lost in its 66 books and 12,143 different English words*.

After meeting with a highly sought after mentor and Christian counselor in our area, he recommended to her what he called a “wisdom search” through Psalms.

What is a “wisdom search” you ask?  You are going to love this…

It is simple.

Look at the calendar and match the day of the month with a chapter in the Psalms.  Then you flip ahead by 30s and read each Psalm until you have come to the last Psalm possible.

Example:  Today is March 1st

So… Psalm 1, Psalm 31, Psalm 61, Psalm 91, Psalm 121

The book of Psalms ends at chapter 150 so that would be all you’d read today.

Then tomorrow is March 2nd.  So… Psalm 2, 32, 62, 92, 122.  See!

But here’s the thing.  Let’s not read this way just to be “reading through” Psalm.  As you approach God’s Holy Word, ask Him for WISDOM for this day!

“Lord give me wisdom for March 1st!”

Is it a gimmicky way to read the Bible?  Maybe.  But are we reading the Bible?  Yes.

Selah.

I have used this approach for years now, especially when I am needing God to speak into a situation.  And HE AMAZES ME.  God always-always-always gives me direction using a “wisdom search” – every time.

I will post our daily {March} through Psalms on our Facebook page every morning.  There I will also share what spoke to me. I hope you will interact and do the same.  Feel free to share our {March} through Psalm on your personal page, too.  You never know who might need it.

[stu·dent] – learner; especially : one who studies : an attentive and systematic observer

God isn’t looking for us all to be fancy Biblical Scholars.  He is just looking for us to be students of His Word – “systematic and attentive observers” of the Book of Life.  A wisdom search is simply an equipping tool or “new system” as you continue on your journey as a learner of His Law.

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. 2 Chronicles 16:9

Will you join me this month on a daily search for {wisdom}?   If you plan to participate, please visit our Facebook page and say, “I’m in!”  Also, share and invite others to join you.  This might be the little bit of structure someone needs.
