As I am praying for you today, I just want you to be awake and wide-eyed to the fact you have an enemy. Your harm is his agenda. Not to scare you, but to make you aware. Christ died to give you life ABUNDANT. And Satan’s goal is to keep you from living it.
Peter says to be “sober-minded and alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
Easy prey is one who lives oblivious to the presence of an enemy. I pray the Lord keeps a check in your spirit at all times to be alert. The battle is real. Very real.
But guess what? We have power to resist him.
Just a book before, James tells us how. “Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
That is a promise. And this is your action plan.
“Resist” is Greek is the word anthistēmi and it literally means to set yourself against, disagree, deny and oppose.
So the filter I often use is the question…. “Is this keeping me from the abundant life?” If the answer is “yes” then I might suspect the enemy is sniffing around.

Enter into the abundance of Christ, resist (deny and oppose) the devil. He will flee.
Senior before you go, I want you to know we don’t have to fall subject to the lies of our enemy. You are victorious in Christ Jesus. Thank goodness, right? Live aware. That’s all.
Lord, thank you for Your Word. I pray that we would “give all our worries and cares to you because you care so much for us. Let us stay alert, stand firm and be strong in the power your Spirit gives to us. We love you Jesus. Amen.
James 4:6-8, Peter 5:6-9
