True story.
Yesterday a dear friend sent me a text…. sharing Scripture prayers over her sweet son for his first day of school. She reminded me that years ago we did this together, right here on this blog, we prayed over our children for the start of school….one passage at at time.
Well, Lord have mercy. Someone tell me what the heck I am doing.
How could I miss this?! … THIS YEAR! If we have ever needed to be on our knees for our babies, IT IS NOW, AMEN!? THIS SCHOOL YEAR. (deep sigh)
So our Sweet Soul Words today are “I am a prayerful mama”…. and we are going into the Throne Room with Sword of the Spirit in tow.
Come with, K?….
(Note: Copy and paste these somewhere. Set a reminder in your calendar to pray these every August. Or pray for Ashley to text you a reminder, too. That was a sweet gift from the Lord to me, BTW. Love you A.H.!)
And… last. This is NOT just for school age mamas. This is for you, too, empty nester. And I am looking at you…. Grandmother. Auntie Em. School teacher. etc. It doesn’t matter if your baby is 8-years-old or 38-years-young. They are still your baby and these prayers still apply. Ok I will hush now.
Prayerful Mamas Unite:
I pray that _____________ will be strong and courageous! I pray __________ will not be afraid or discouraged, for you Lord will personally go ahead of him/her. Thank you that you are with him/her you neither fail nor abandon him/her. Deuteronomy 31:7-8
I pray that since you, Lord, are faithful, You will establish _____________ and guard him/her from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
I pray, Jesus, that ___________ knows that Your grace is sufficient for him/her. That your strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9
I pray that your kindness, Lord, would not depart from ___________ nor would your covenant of peace be removed from him/her. Isaiah 54:10
I pray that you, Lord Jesus, would increase __________’s faith. Luke 17:5
I pray that you will strengthen ___________ today, according to your Word. Psalm 119:28
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon ____________ today. Establish the work of his /her hands, yes, establish the work of his/her hands. Psalm 90:17
And like Jesus, I pray this school year would increase ______________ in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. Luke 2:52
Lord, thank you for ordering your angels to protect _______________ wherever he/she goes. I pray you would rescue ___________ from every trap and protect him/her from deadly disease. I declare that Your faithful promises are armor and protection. Psalm 91:11,3-4
Let us not be anxious mamas. Let us be prayer warriors. Let us be more diligent to cover our children in prayer as we are to cover their face with masks. Tip!…Every time you put your mask on, let it be a prompt to pray with these Scriptures. Or if you can’t remember them, just speak the name of “Jesus” over their lives.
Love to all of you. We are going to make it! (elbow bumps all around, xo)
THANK YOU so much for this!! I have shared with my friends. I pray your sweet boys have a great year!🙏🏻
