Are You Weighed Down?

As I read my {March} through the Psalms this morning, many words, verses and stanzas made a mark in my heart.

But one in particular.  Here’s why…

Monday I just felt funky.  Emotionally funky.  Spiritually funky.  Even physically funky.

There was no explanation.  Nothing had necessarily happened to make me blue.  But there was an underlying heaviness in my spirit that was undeniable.

Maybe it was the overall weight of life — Busyness, budget, chores or child-rearing.

Maybe it was spiritual warfare.  Possibly I sensed the enemy prowling around, strategically plotting to devour.

Whatever it was, I am encouraged today by the LIFTING power of our God.

He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, And He set the world on them. 1 Samuel 2:8

The LORD sustains all who fall And raises up all who are bowed down. Psalm 145:14

I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my enemies rejoice over me. Psalm 30:1

But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. Psalm 3:3

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. Psalm 27:5

No matter the reason we feel down… it is the Lord who will lift you.  It is what He does.  It is He who lifts your head… It is He who lifts your spirit… It is He lifts you out of your present despair… exalting you and setting you on high.

Are you “weighed down” today?

If so, rest in the promise today – He will raise you up.

Trust Him and His lifting ability.

No weight is too heavy for Him.
