Jesus & Joe: A Coffee Devotional
This morning, as I opened my eyes, still lying in bed, I heard the first five stanzas of Christy Nockels’ song, Let It Be Jesus playing in my head…
Let it be Jesus.
The first name that I call.
Let it be Jesus.
My song inside the storm.
I’ll never need another.
What if every morning, as our eyes open from a night’s sleep, before a single thought has rushed to the surface or another word to our lips, what if we spoke the five precious letters…
“JESUS”
There is power in His Name.
Power to overcome fear.
Power to heal the sick.
Power to bring peace.
Power to bring the prodigal home.
Power to set the captive free.
Power to be made whole.
Just in the name…
“JESUS”
There is no other name under heaven more powerful. Or more significant.
Today, speak His name. Over your life. Or under your breath. Whisper in a prayer. Sing it in a song.
Let it be Jesus.
God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. Philippians 2:9, 10
