Sometimes a blog post calls for a story. Or an illustration. Sometimes a post needs a witty retelling of something that happened this weekend.

But today, this blog calls for little, except Psalm 103:1.

BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! Psalm 103:1

Bless {to celebrate God.  To adore on bended knee}

Soul { self, life, creature, whole person, appetite, mind, desire, emotion, passion, that which breathes, the inner being of man living, being living being (with life in the blood) the man himself, self, person or individual, seat of the appetites, seat of emotions and passions, activity of mind, activity of the will,  activity of the character}

Bless the LORD, O my soul.

In other words…

Celebrate God with your life.

Adore God with your mind.

Celebrate God with  you desires, emotions and passions.

Adore God you who breath.

Celebrate you who have life in your blood.

Adore God with your will.

Celebrate God with your  appetite.

Adore God with your a character.

Celebrate God from the seat of your emotions.

And just in case King David left something out, he adds…

And all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.

ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME.

Celebrate and adore God – with ALL of yourself.

From this day forward, will you join me in reading Psalm 103 for 103 days?

Read it out loud or maybe on a bended knee in the quiet of your heart.  Read it in carpool line or maybe at your office desk from your Kindle.  Read it under your breath.  Or sing it in song.  But read it.  Bless Him.  Reflect on Him. Remember Him.  God wants to change your life through His Word.  Through this Psalm.  Starting right now.

{My Raw Reflections – 103 of 103}  If I am not blessing the Lord with “all that is in within me”, I wonder what is stealing my adoration.  This causes me to search my heart.  What idols am I bowing towards if not the Living God?  Honestly.  I am quicker to bow to people, money, fame, fashion, fitness and even my own family before the Father.  Let today be the day that my attention turns back to the One who is worthy of “all that is within me.”

Ask the Father, “What do I adore more than you, Lord?”  As He reveals these things to you, thank Him and turn your affection towards Him and “Bless His holy name” today.
