Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15
Thank you so much for all of your comments and sharing you “delights” of the past few days! So many of you are delighting in the spring-like weather! Come warmth, don’t delay!
I am HONORED to announce the TWO winners of these Women’s Study Bibles!!
CHRISTINE HAGA shared that she is “delighting in new, sweet friendships that are encouraging her she walks this road for life.”
BETH UTTERBACK shared that she “delighted yesterday in the fact that her two boys chose to play outside enjoying the glorious weather instead of inside playing the XBox!” She, too, is so thankful that spring is just around the corner!”
CONGRATS you two! Your entires were picked at random and I am so excited to get these to you! I will be in touch.
I pray that you all were encouraged to “look a little crazy” the past few days and “meditate” or “murmur” God’s Word under your breath! I wanted to share a picture of one of my window-seal notecards. This one is rests in the corner of my kitchen window. I love that God makes Himself “continually” available to me. I can take “refuge” in Him. He “inclines His ear to me and saves me” (often from all of the frustrations that occur in the kitchen with three boys around. Anybody?). He is my “Rock” and my “Fortress”… Isn’t that so good?
This morning, grab a 3×5 and ask the Lord to show you a Scripture to meditate upon. Think on God today. Think on His Word and His Goodness. Let us be a people who “keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Founder and Perfecter of our faith.” Hebrews 12:2
I’d LOVE to see your notecards, too! Take a picture of yours and share on our Facebook page! I promise you it will bless some people! I made mine our Facebook cover photo.
I shared on Monday that the Lord has planted FRESH VISION in my heart for this blog and for all of you. I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you would share a cup of coffee with me here. Your time and mental space is valuable! Thank you for being here, truly.
So two things that are up and coming…
1). Beating The Body Image Blues – A Series On Overcoming Our Critical Selves
This one is dear-dear-dear to my heart. I know many of you have read my Chasing Skinny story and although the Lord healed me of an eating disorder, I still have to work out the mental kinks on a daily basis. The more I teach and write on this subject, the more I realize that WE ARE ALL affected by the Body Image Blues in some manner. And I want to equip you to live in victory over self-critical thoughts! All that being said, be on the look out next week for this to begin.
2). 103 Days of Psalm 103
Beginning next Monday, March 17th through June 27th, I will begin reading Psalm 103 every morning for 103 Days. Why Psalm 103? A couple of reasons. One, I love establishing the holy habit of opening my quiet time up with praise! Too many mornings I come with my head hung low and my heart heavy with burdens. But when I begin my quiet time with praise to the Father, all of my troubles set themselves in proper perspective. God is glorified. He lifts my chin. He reminds me of His goodness and faithfulness and loving kindness. And two, Psalm 103 is such a close depiction of my life. He healed all of my disease. He redeemed my life from the pit. He crowns me (and you!) with steadfast love and mercy. HE SATISFIES us with good. Oh, come on, now! I love it! Go read it all! Do you relate to the heart of David!? Oh I do.
So this is your invitation: I want to invite you to join me for 103 Days of Psalm 103. Let this Psalm become a part of you. By May 16th, you won’t even need a notecard. This Psalm will be engrained for quick reference and meditation! I am excited!
Ok… I will stop for now. I adore you all and I thank you again for you entries. I wish I had a Bible to give all of you. There are more giveaways in weeks to come … so hang tight.
And don’t forget about your 3×5 card. I’d love to see your picture! Or just leave a comment sharing a verse you are speaking to yourself.
Let’s look a little crazy about God’s Word today!
Girl, we could seriously be the best of friends! Psalm 103 is my absolute favorite right now! If you haven’t heard Ellie Holcomb’s song “Don’t Forget His Love”, you need to stop what you’re doing and listen to it right now! 🙂 It was my song for 2013, and I’m pretty sure I’ve posted it 3 times! Don’t be fooled by what’s in the parentheses of the official title. It says Psalm 108, but it got mixed it up with another (super great) song of hers. I’ll post a picture on fb of where I have written this verse. It isn’t on a notecard, but it’s in the front of a journal I’m using right now. Looking forward to 103 days…!
Amy!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting on Facebook! Look at your art! mmm! So talented! I will go listen to that song RIGHT NOW!
