After reading The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence,  I can’t believe how naive I have been to the nearness of my Heavenly Father.  I will write more on this in weeks to come, but for today, I wanted to share the verse the Lord put in my heart as the over-arching theme of my 2014.

No New Year’s Resolutions, only an invitation for a lifetime … to walk in the light of His presence.

I encourage you to ask the Lord for a Scripture as the foundation and framework for your new year.  When you have it, please share in the comments!

Dear Lord, Your Word says that “the heavens are yours.  The earth is yours: everything in the world is yours – you created it all.” (Psalm 89:11) So in light of this Truth, I give 2014 to you, as well.  It is not mine – it is yours.  I commit myself to Your work and service and anticipate the fullness of joy found in my obedience to Your call.  I love you Jesus.  I give my life to you.  Every nook. Every cranny. Every day in 2014.  Yours.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
