Serving Counter-culturally {More Than Fine}

“Christian women have come to believe on the one hand we’re to always treat others the way we want to be treated, and on the other that doing this for our husbands makes us a doormat.” -Elspeth, Traditional Christianity

[Jesus] emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.   And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Philippians 2:7-8

There is nothing more beautiful than pouring myself out completely, rendering my life an empty vessel, to be picmonkey_imagecompletely filled by God.  It is then, and only then, that I can be truly used for His Glory.  Anything shy of this is false humility.

Father, today I empty myself, and offer myself as a servant.  Use me today to bless and serve my family; to uplift and encourage my husband.  Today I embrace my calling as a helpmate.  What an honor.  Let me reject the culture’s view of servanthood as weakness and embrace Christ’s example.  For in the Kingdom, the poor shall become rich and the weak become strong.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Strengthen your marriage today by serving well.

I means so much to hear from you!
