I am praying for Luke. He is coming to an age where sin and forgiveness make sense. And we are discussing lots about Jesus being the only way to God. Jesus is the only one to forgive him of sin. We must have Jesus!!
My lunch sack seed for Luke is that he would just… “B”elieve!
And for Grant and Ethan. Sweet them. Narcissism reigns many days around here. And without Jesus, I am talking about myself, too. It is no wonder Jesus commands us to love our neighbor as OURSELVES. We are good at that {grin}.
But I pray and believe, in faith, that they will be children who grow to care more about others. Who put others’ needs before their own. At breakfast this morning, I am going to coach them to ask good questions to their classmates at lunchtime. Ask about their friends’ interests. About someone’s favorite sport or what they did over Fall break.
Practicing these simple things are perfect ways to discipline themselves to look also to the interests of others.

My 9 year-old daughter is experiencing some challenges with friends at school…we know about that, don’t we?! We’ve been talking about how God is our rock, our firm foundation, the great sustainer. Even when others are unkind, God always loves us and carries us through our difficulty. My lunch sack seed for her today is: “I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” (Is. 46:4)
Mmm, Linda! This is SO great. I can imagine how BLESSED she was by this! Praise the Lord!
