Finding Yourself Far Beyond Average

{Today, I am so very honored to be guest posting over at Dayspring’s blog, (in)courage, Home for the Hearts of Women. I have read (in)courage for a couple of years, so to be a little part of what God is doing through them is amazing. Thank you, Jesus! Enjoy…}

Finding Yourself Far Beyond Average

Confession: Some days, it pains me to look at other blogs.

All of my insecurities rise to the top. And I see my lack in so many areas.

Exactly how does she have 700+ readers? And that picture! She must have a nice camera. And creativity! Wow. My mind doesn’t think poetically. And that template. Beautiful. And she sews?! And cooks!? She’s so organized. And athletic. And pretty. She has an Etsy site, too?!

  1. This is amazing! I actually wrote a blog just yesterday on the exact same thing =) Thanks for writing this and for listening to the Lord on this.

  2. Your post today has me thinking. I wanted to come to your "average" blog to comment for a glimpse into your "average girl" life. It's beautiful. :)You know, I think it's our sin nature that causes us to compare ourselves one with another rather than look to Christ. Women especially fall into this so easily. Israel did…they wanted a king like all the other nations. Your sweet and gentle challenge for me today is to fix my eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of my faith — no matter how perfect the "other girl" may look.Thanks for this.

  3. Thank you for sharing this.I found you on (in)courage. I just had the same thought pattern, as I was looking at a friend who is in a similar area of ministry as myself, and thought "wow, look how far she's come" not in a proud, you-go-girl, sortof way. It was tainted with jealousy and envy. God just convicted me, while reading this blog.thank you :)And can I just say, that you have a BEAUTIFUL blog!!"Encourage, challenge, refresh and renew based on the Word and Grace of God"—You did exactly this for me this morning.God bless you!

I means so much to hear from you!
